This painting has earthy colours, which is what I like to represent nature in all it’s beauty. The carpet snake appears in movement, with markings that represent black fella language, and people. The snake has a transparent tongue, to represent language almost lost of Birri Gubba.

The emu appear resting, with markings that stem from my late Uncle Howard’s (Oonga Boonga) drawings, that were handed down to me.

The background represents two territories, one of Queensland where I am from, and one of Northern Territory, where I have family. This marking is significant of the marriage between two clans.
