Tiannah Bernard Nampin Nangari

Tiannah Bernard is a proud Gurindji woman from Kalkaringi Community with two beautiful children. Her country is called Purrurany (Black Gin Hill), which is in the Seale Gorge area near Daguragu.

Tiannah’s Dreaming/totem is the nyiingkaji (cicada), which she inherited from her grandfather (kaku), her father’s father side. Painting is one of her favourite pastimes as well as fishing, hunting, gathering and playing sport.

She is very interested and happy to share her knowledge and stories to her children and very excited to show people from all walks of life her culture through her paintings. Tiannah’s paintings are always nyiingkaji and about fishing, hunting and gathering.
