Joanne Marnjawurrdu Stevens Nambin/Nanaku

Joanne Marnjawurrdu Stevens Nambin/Nanaku was born in Darwin in 1967. Joanne’s father worked as a stockman on Number 1 Camp at Jamungku (Wave Hill Station) and Joanne grew up there and went to school there until her early teens when the family moved to Daguragu. She has lived in Daguragu since that time. She has three children and six grandchildren. In the 90’s she started painting at the Daguragu Art and Craft Centre. Joanne enjoys painting bush food and bush medicine in a contemporary style.
