This piece speaks to an also-used theme in Weipa Night Sky (Albatross Bay), 2023: This piece is obviously not a landscape nor an accurate description of the night skies above Weipa. It is a contemplation of wonder at the notion of the unknown of the cosmos, coupled with the many and ongoing plans for a ‘space station’ (of sorts) being established on the Napranum DOGIT lands, near Scherger Base.
This piece is a striking re-visit to the artists’ earliest style of a sort of neo-expressionism and exploration of darker themes, as well as more experimental approaches to form and composition.
