This design by Alice Nampitjinpa Dixon shows the Tali Tali Story.
This painting shows the artist’s Tjukurrpa, the Tali Tali Dreaming. It refers to the vast and desolate sandhills of her country near Taalalpi, which is located beyond the Kintore/Kiwikurra road near the West Australian and Northern Territory border. This is the country where her father and mother used to travel by foot when she was a young girl. The place is still of great spiritual significance to Alice and her father’s family as it contains both, personal and tribal law to which Alice relates in her work. Water has collected in between the sandhills, providing sustenance for her porcupine. The tjikamamta (porcupine) is Alice’s own personal tjukurrpa (dreaming). She returned to her country for a visit in late 2005.
This fabric has been screen printed by hand by Publisher Textiles and Papers, ensuring the highest quality and longevity.

Our fabric is printed in small batches and is cut to order. For larger quantities, please email us to discuss pre-orders.
Fabric care instructions: Gentle cold hand wash only. Do not bleach, do not tumble dry, cool iron only. The ink has been heat set for longevity, however please take care when washing (wash garments inside out if possible).

Freight and Handling Costs
Our prices are inclusive of freight & handling costs. As a remote Art Centre staff take great care in packing each item properly to ensure safe travels on the 230 km drive to the closest post office / courier office. All paintings are shipped unstretched, unless otherwise stated in the materials section as ‘Pre-Stretched’. Pre-stretching of larger canvas must be organised and paid for in advance. For International orders, a staff member will get in contact for additional shipping costs after your order is placed. Below are estimated pricing, we ship with Startrack.

Delivery Times
Due to Australian wide shipping delays, and the possibility of bad weather on local roads at all times of the year, delivery times may take longer than usual. Every effort is made to dispatch artworks as quickly as possible, but specific delivery times cannot be guaranteed. Please keep in mind that you are purchasing something from a remote community. Online orders will be sent after the event closes and will most likely not arrive before Christmas.
Please clearly nominate a delivery address, phone number and name for your delivery so we can easily get in-touch should a rare issue occur.
All items are posted using Startrack or Australia Post unless other delivery arrangements are made with the Art Centre. You will receive an email with your tracking number and order details once it has been posted.

Ikuntji Artists does not offer refunds or returns for change of mind. Once an order is placed, it cannot be modified or cancelled. Please take this into consideration when purchasing items. Please also note that for handmade items such as fabrics and t-shirts, slight variations should be expected. Much care and time is taken when arranging photographs of artworks for the website and we do our best to assure that they are true to colour and form. Ikuntji Artists are not responsible for misrepresentations of images on personal devices.
Please be aware when purchasing clothing, we do not offer a refund for change of mind. Ikuntji can offer an exchange or store credit for incorrect sizing however we are not able to offer refunds or reimbursements for any postage costs including the return of the item.

Items customers wish to purchase may require a manual quote for freight which will be charged separately.
