The Piltati Tjukurpa belongs to the ranges in far northern South Australia. It tells of two women, seen here with their piti munu wana (collecting bowls and digging sticks), who set out hunting and gradually draw further and further away from home. They dig burrow after burrow hoping to find small game. Their husbands follow them and transform into Wanampi, water snakes, to lie in wait for their wives in the water hole known as Piltati. When the woman approach they are startled by the Snake Men who leap up and swallow them whole. The four then become Wanampi together at Piltati.

International orders are shipped via TNT, fully insured and including a tracking number. Delivery time is up to eight weeks.

We offer returns within 30 days of receiving your order for damaged artwork OR artwork that is unrecognisable from artwork photograph represented during the AIATSIS online Aboriginal Art Fair.
Iwiri Art Centre makes every effort to portray a true image and description of the artwork photographed. We understand that visual digital translations may differ from the artwork slightly, and require the consumer to be considerate when purchasing original artworks, respecting the artists work.
The refund of your payment will be issued into the original account used to make the purchase.
Please note the following exceptions to our return policy:
- Discounted items are final and cannot be returned or exchanged.
- Iwiri Art Centre does not accept refunds for incorrect choice or if the customer has a change of mind.
Iwiri Aboriginal Corporation Return policy
- To initiate a return, please email Iwiri Arts with your payment receipt and photographs to explain the request for return.
- If all parties agree on reason for a return, refund will be actioned upon the safe return of artwork.
- Returned items must have all original documentation, tags still on and be returned in original packaging.
- Returned items must be in their original condition and have no visible signs of wear, use or damage.
