The Ancestral set was created in homage of the First Nations women of South-East Australia.

The women are repeating shown in illustrations and imagery to have large woven coolamons on their back, dillybags around their foreheads and cordage holding the coolamon comfortably in place.

Being an Aboriginal woman descending from the Narrungdera clan of Wiradjuri Country, it was an honour to replicate items my ancestors would have made.

The core of the woven piece are native reeds hand collected from country, while the outer visible weaving is raffia that has been eco dyed.

Please note, as this piece is one of a kind, I would be replicating the wall hanging pictured. Fibres are hand dyed, and emu feathers are hand sorted, so there will be variations to the fibre art pictured.

The colour palette is your choice, you’re welcome to select any colour combination that you’d like.
