Nagula Jarndu Designs

Rowena is a Halls Creek woman from the Nangarri skin group and belongs to the Kija and Gooniyandi tribes through her grandparents.
Rowena began painting at the age of 14. She uses Indigenous symbols and animals to illustrate her connection to them. She was a member of the Halls Creek art centre, and exhibited with them. She is now living in Broome and enjoys translating her symbols into block prints and textile designs. Rowena is also a small business owner, operator of Nangarri Designs, paints at home and also does other art mediums and attends Nagula Jarndu on a daily basis
