Maria was born in Warrabri (Ali Curung) in 1977. Maria grew up and went to school in Ali Curung and went on to Yirarra College in Alice Springs when she was 15 years. Maria started to paint in 2007 and paints landscapes of her mother’s country and her grandmother’s country. (Hatches Creek). Maria is a landscape artist who paintings are inspired by visits to her mother’s country. She also paints her husbands dreaming.
