Leon Russell Black

Hello. My name is Leon Black. I went to School at Port Keats when I was only 4 and a half years old, and then as I grew older I moved to Darwin and went to School at Kormilda College when I was in grade 8. When I finished that year, I moved to my Grandfathers country at Garden Point which is on Melville Island. It’s a small community.  I watched my mum paint every day at the Art Centre called Munupi Art, and then i ask my mum if i can paint like her, which I did. I started a new painting early this year.

Cameron is a finalist in the 2021 Telstra NATSIAA and also in the 2021 Churchie Emerging Artist
