Judy Nampijinpa Long

Judy Long is an elder in the Ali Curung community. She is a very productive artist that stetches the artistic expression and is always looking at new ways to tell her dreaming story, both in colour and composition. Judy Long Nampijinpa was born at Neutral Junction Station near Barrow Creek. She has two daughters. She came to Ali Curung with her parents from Neutral Junction Station. She worked as a cleaner at the police station. She started painting at the old women’s centre in the early 1990’s when CDEP started. She started painting traditional paintings of her father’s country, her dreaming is Ngapa. Her mother Napanangka is from Warlukurlangu in Kaitiji country west of Stirling Station. Her father’s country is Jaramarra west of Warrego mine in Tennant Creek. Her mother is Kaitiji, her Father is Walpiri. She speaks 3 langauges Kaitiji, Walpiri and Alyawarra.
