Joy Tapau lives and works on the Cape York Peninsula, and creates art at the NPA Art Centre.
“I am from Murray Island and belong to the Daurareb and Komet tribes. I am new to art making but feel that it is part of who I am as a traditional person. I am discovering my language and culture through research initiated by my art making. I am enjoying screen printing and plant dying As a new way of expressing myself.. I would like to continue my work in fashion.”
