Jennifer Nakamarra Nelson was born at Warrabri (Ali Curung). She lived and went to school at Ali Curung then attended Yirara College in Alice Springs. When she was young her grandmother taught her how to make necklaces and bangles out of beans and Ininti seeds. That was back in the 70s and 80s. Then in 2003 she started painting about Jurkurrpa stories dreamtime stories.
