Erin Jia was born in 1976 in Mackay, North Queensland. Erin is a Yidinji, Meriam and Badulaig woman living and working in Far North Queensland. Erin’s artistic practice, which includes acrylic on canvas, is focused on engaging with her culture, with strong references to traditional songs, stories and dance. Erin is passionate about presenting her cultural knowledge to educate people about the depth and beauty of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander practices and protocols.
