Dorothy says “As a young child I remember walking on our country with my mother, aunties, and cousins. Sometimes we would walk for hours before finding a place to fish. Along the way, my mum and aunties would tell us stories about our country, the waterways, plants, and animals. These stories were handed down from our elders and they are part of our age-old traditions. The time that I have spent on country with my family has given me the cultural grounding that I carry with me throughout my life. This is what inspires my artworks and now I paint about all these stories, and I am recording what I was taught for my grandchildren and future generations”.

Over the past 11 years, Dorothy’s fine art paintings, prints and jewellery have been exhibited at Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair, AIATSIS Indigenous Arts Market, National Indigenous Arts Fair- Sydney, UMI Arts Gallery and Giftshop, NorthSite Contemporary Art Gallery and Cairns Indigenous Arts Fair.

Dorothy is currently creating new works for exhibition opportunities in 2023.
