Denise Bonney

Denise Bonney is an Alyawarr artist from Ampilatwatja, where she is a regular at renown Ampilatwatja art centre. Denise spends considerable time with her family in nearby Canteen Creek, where she also works with in Artists of Barkly’s Canteen Creek studio. Denise has a distinct visual language, producing finely rendered landscapes in which she obscures perspectives, creating tapestries of rhythmic trees and bush flowers. Her unusual use of perspective has been influential to her broader family, may of whom are also active members of the Ampilatwatja and Canteen Creek art centres.
