Charmaine Kerindun

Charmaine Kerindun is a skilled Artist and Arts Worker at Anindilyakwa Arts, from Angurugu community on Groote Eylandt. A creative jewellery artist, weaver and printer, Charmaine enjoys experimenting with both traditional, and contemporary methods. Drawing on old knowledge and practice, she translates and contrasts these ideas, through “new ways” materials such as washed-up ghost net, found on beaches across the archipelago. 

Additionally, Charmaine is a creative and experimental bush dyer. Drawing on ancient knowledge of natural dying processes, she enjoys toying with new patterns and colours translated onto various fabrics.
